Goodbye to Warwickshire, our base for almost 20 years, hello to Cornwall !

Moving the warehouse is quite a task so some products may appear out of stock for a while even though we currently have plenty but everything should be complete by the middle of May 2022. The website stock levels will be updated as we progress.

Looking forward to another 20 years, we hope you will join us on the journey.

Belarus and Russia no longer welcome here

Never have we turned away a customer until now, we no longer ship to Russia or Belarus and if we suspect an order is from a Russian or Belarus citizen it will not be fulfilled. While in reality this will make very little difference to the war, it is our gesture in support of the Ukrainian people who deserve far better than such an evil war.

Catalogue Price List download

Many customers have requested that we publish a brochure, catalogue or price list for downloading and either printing or viewing offline.We are very pleased to announce that we now have simple monthly price list available for download.

Download the most recent price list. Please note that the pricelist is usually updated once per month so for up to the minute prices, availability and ordering this website remains your primary reference.

You will need the free Adobe Acrobat or another pdf reader to view the price list which can be downloaded from your favourite app store for most mobile phones and tablets

Brexit Schmexit - it is business as usual for our EU customers

At last a deal is reached - thank goodness for all that !

So, what does it all mean for you, our friends in the EU ? ...Actually not much has changed in practise with regards to ordering from us here in the UK. Instead of paying UK VAT ( the name for the UK version of sales tax or TVA ) we will now ship to you with VAT removed and you will be asked to pay your local rate of VAT by whatever delivery service you chose and the amount will go directly to your own government. That is in fact exactly what used to happen behind the scenes while the UK was a EU member but now you have more visibility where the tax portion of your purchase goes.

  • Our prices will remain the same for all our customers regardless of what country you are in.
  • If you are a UK or non EU customer then absolutely nothing changes whatsoever.
  • If you are an EU customer, thanks to the Free Trade Agreement, there are no new tariffs to be added and in fact we will now discount any applicable VAT from your shopping basket just before you pay so in many cases you will pay us the same or slightly less than shown on our website. If there is any local VAT due on your purchase it will be the same as making a purchase in your own country but will be charged by the carrier prior to or shortly after delivery to you. We do all the hard work by making sure the correct prices, commodity code and country of origin is on the paperwork sent with your order to make the process and any customs delays as painless as possible.

I am sure it is a great relief for everyone that cares about children in the UK and EU alike to know that Costumechest can continue supplying fabulous quality childrens costumes, dress up and party wear into 2021 and beyond.

Peak Season Mailing Advice

Expedited and Courier shipping

If you are placing a new order and delivery is urgent or time critical please consider using one of the expedited or courier delivery options. Couriers are very busy but generally we are not seeing any unexpected delays.

Royal Mail

The vast majority of parcels sent via Royal Mail are being delivered promptly but a small proportion are suffering considerable delays.

Due to a perfect storm of increased online shopping, covid working restrictions cause staffing shortages and the seasonal peak there are parts of the Royal Mail network which are overwhelmed at the moment so the usual delivery targets are suspended.

Before contacting us please check the status of your shipment via the Royal Mail tracking portal using the tracking number provided when we confirmed dispatch. If your parcel shows the status "An update will only be provided when we attempt to deliver your item" then it has been acknowledged as being received into the Royal Mail system but has yet to be processed for delivery. In some cases there may be a delay before this status is shown so it is worth checking again the next day.

If your parcel shows a "delivered" status but you have not received it the most likely reason is that it has been left with another household member, neighbour or in your designated safe place.

You may have noticed we changed address from costumechest.com to costumechest.co.uk, this is just a technical thing to tidy things up so now costumechest.com, costumechest.fr costumechest.it, costumechest.es, costumechest.de and costumechest.nl all point to the same place , here where we are based, in the UK !
